It is located in North Carolina’s Piedmont Triad and within hours to the Blue Ridge mountains and NC coastal beaches. The region enjoys a moderate climate, with an average summer temperature of 73.9 degrees Fahrenheit and an average winter temperature of 45.3 degrees Fahrenheit.

Winston Salem (or just Winston as many locals call it) is The City of the Arts, as it was the first city in the US with its own Arts Council. You’ll see this dedication to cultural enrichment in the many art galleries, film and music festivals, block parties, and city-wide initiatives that you’ll find throughout the city. For a small city, there is a lot to do in Winston-Salem! The Visitor’s Center website is a great place to start when looking for a wide variety of cultural events to participate in. Here you’ll find information on art exhibits, musical events, academic lectures, sporting events, community and family days, and so much more.  You’ll find a large number of great restaurants Downtown and in the areas surround the law school, and there’s plenty of shopping to do nearby. If you enjoy exploring nature, there are nearby destinations like Salem Lake, Hanging Rock State Park, and Pilot Mountain all within easy driving distance.
